We can skip humans with the Image Updater

I like this for dev or staging environments

• Rather than watching a git repo, it watches an OCI registry
• Watches a registry for new images (with various strategies)
  • Semver (1.2.3)
  • Latest (metadata) date with a reusable (mutable) tag (dev)
  • Last tag name, alphabetically (stable-YYYY-MM-DD-mm-ss)
• Auto patches your Argo CD apps with the new image and deploys
• Optionally, auto commits an override file to your App repo:
  • Argo CD knows to look for this file, called .argocd-source.yaml
  • It can also use a Kustomize mode that runs kustomize edit set image
• Only works with Kustomize and Helm apps
• Regex can be used in addition to the above strategies
• It can write to a new branch
